Awesome job everyone! I think it went really well for not having our coaches physically present. Though Sharon and Ricky were there in spirit. Thanks Sharon for keeping in touch throughout the week and checking up on us to make sure everything was A-OK. A big mahalo to everyone who helped w/ the loading, unloading, trailering, rigging, and misc tasks that needed to be done to make today run smoothly.
The women's crews finished in 5th and 8th in the open division. The men's crews finished in 3rd and 10th.
My crew was battling with one of the many Kihei crews for about half the race before they finally pulled ahead and kept a short distance between us. And that Hawaiian crew that sneaked up on us at the end... where did they come from? I hear that Kathie's crew had some battles w/ Hawaiian's escort boat of their 9-man crew. But overall, everyone was in great spirits at the end and we had a fun time out on the water. Hard work, but lots of fun!
Congratulations to our World Sprints gang. They did a ton of racing over the week and qualified for a lot of finals, placing 2nd in the v12. Yay!
Ok. So I didn't get as much footage on the men's race as Josh did on the women's. That's what happens when the race course changes and I don't get the memo. And just a side note: the women's course turned out to be LONGER than the men's... so to all the women- you are awesome!! Men- you're awesome too, but the women today are awesome-er! Happy paddling!

Novice and Open Races only. Sorry, no junior crews.
Apologies to the Senior Master Women. We missed the start of your race and you paddled so fast that by the time we were set up, you were almost done! We also missed the Golden Master Men's race.
